exact translation of the French piece published in your last
paper, may yet convey the spirit of it; and are at your
service.
Lewis, whose heart is cas'd with stone,
To all the calls of nature deaf,
Can hear his wretched subjects groan,
And yet unmov'd deny relief.

The place, where I am, not affording a good Echo, I have not
undertaken a translation of the Dialogue between Lewis XV
and Echo: and it seems his most Christian Majesty was not
more happily situated; for his Echo is a very imperfect
one.
